The same feeling, do AI knows the hardware? Does it have the context of the changes? Did it read Linus decisions why something should be the way he thinks is correct? I would prefer such approach where AI knows so much context as Linus and the most important persons in the kernel team
This is what I mean, its not a low number far from it. But I know people that only value that number, so previously they churn out a big LOC, higher ups praise. Now its just big number good, bigger number even better. And LLMs do exactly that.
Now LOC comes down to how much tokens you are willing to spend for a given day.
Omg, PHP... I ditched this language 7 years ago, because I was fed up with the context switching (fullstack webdev). In the beginning I really was enjoying the gentle slope of learning. I could do a lot without knowing what classes, objects and types are. And I am grateful for this, because thanks to it, now I am here where I can do much more powerful things knowing classes, objects, types and paradigms
Saying that a certain project exists that does not use newer features of a language does not detract from the fact that the language itself is much more featureful.
Im sure I could find popular projects in every language in the world which only uses old library functions and hasnt been updated. I would hazzard a guess that as node changes so frequently, there are untold amounts of projects still using old inefficient methods compared to what is available in the latest version
I don't configure my child's accounts as minor. I don't tell it is a child. The work I have to do to comply with different weird stuff when some platform knows a user is a child is so much crap that I get a headache! And it often does not work properly (eg try to signup child account for PokemonGo on slow device, or try to allow network play for a child in Minecraft game - microslop family crap will hit you hard)
