So now game devs are forced to use JavaScript if they want to make games in the browser? That sucks.

Did anybody ever use Java applets for games? It's been a long time since I've seen a Java applet in the wild, and I can't remember any games.

Yes. My current employer though we switched new development to html years ago. Dunno why gp complained now, hopefully nobody is doing new applet development.

Emscripten allows for C++ to be used, and Flash is everywhere Java applets were and then some.

My website runs on a vps with NodeJS as the backend. I could easily self sign a certificate but chrome displays a huge warning to users. How about signing certificates for free google. Https is easy to implement but the fact that it costs is bs.

LetsEncrypt offers free, automated certificates and is recognised in all major browsers (IE, Chrome, FF, Safari). https://letsencrypt.org/

Oh wow I've actually heard of this before thanks for the tip.

Is this China again? Ughhh.

So is github the Google of code?

I disagree and here's why. The web platforms he mentions are for following the lives of people you like. Links get in the way on these specific apps. Especially on mobile where clicking links by accident is a dread. If you want to share your web links then post it on your blog. Make a link from Twitter to your blog. But DONT expect apps to allow you to spam your garbage links to others. That's what Reddit is for.

If you can't build a site without bootstrap, jquery, 500 png's/jpegs.. please stop coding.

It looks nice and easier to read, but I signed up to this site a few days ago because of the bad/lack of css. I don't mind having to zoom in manually as I do on reddit too.

Dunno but its the best framework I've ever used. Looking at you rails.

Has anyone heard of the ransomware that encrypts your whole hard drive and makes you pay to unencrypt it? LOL.
